Backing Up and Restoring Your Game Server

Create a backup

1. Stop the server first so files cannot change halfway through the backup.
2. Open Backups in Calagopus and select Create.
3. Give the backup a clear name. If you can choose a source, select Server Files.
4. Check the ignored-file patterns to make sure your world and configuration are included.
5. Wait for the backup to finish. You can also download a copy if your plan and permissions allow it.

Databases stored outside the game server need to be backed up separately. A server file backup does not include them.

Restore a backup

Stop the server and, if possible, save a copy of its current files. Select the backup, choose Restore and check what will be overwritten before confirming.

Once the restore is complete, start the server and check that the world and application load correctly.

If you have reached your backup limit, download files through SFTP and export any databases separately. Avoid deleting your only working backup.
