How to Change Your Minecraft Server Version
HEO Systems makes it incredibly easy to switch your server software or version (e.g., from Vanilla to Paper, or updating to 1.21).
[!IMPORTANT] Backup Your Data! Changing server versions can sometimes cause compatibility issues, especially if downgrading. Always create a backup in the Backups tab before proceeding.
Steps to Change Version
- Stop the server.
- Ensure the server is completely offline before making changes.
- Navigate to the Versions tab.
- This is a special tab in our panel designed to make version management simple.
- Select your desired server software and version.
- You can choose from popular options like Paper, Purpur, Vanilla, Fabric, and more.
- Install.
- Click the button to apply the change.
- Note: This will replace your server jar file. It usually does not delete your world or configs, but backing up is still recommended.
