Connecting Your Domain and Managing DNS

Use the nameservers or hosting IP shown for your own web hosting service. These details can differ between servers.

Connect your domain

1. Open DirectAdmin and check that the domain has been added to your account.
2. At your domain registrar, either set the HEO Systems nameservers or keep your current DNS provider and update the records there.
3. If you keep external DNS, point the A record to the IPv4 address assigned to your hosting service. Only add an AAAA record if an IPv6 address was provided.
4. Configure www as well.
5. If email is hosted elsewhere, keep its existing MX and related records.
6. Wait for cached DNS results to expire, then test both the domain and www.

Where should you edit DNS?

Use Account Manager → DNS Management when your domain uses HEO Systems nameservers. If it uses nameservers from another provider, change the records there instead.

Changing nameservers only changes where DNS is managed; it does not transfer the domain. Copy any email and verification records you still need before switching.
